Conrad Montcalm has served the financial services industry for more than 35 years. Since 1991 he has specialized in the area of his greatest interest, financial planning.
His background includes the successful completion of the Canadian Securities course, the Branch Compliance Officers’ course, and the requirements leading to receiving his designation as Personal Financial Planner. He is registered with the Canadian Securities Institute and is licensed to offer investment planning services in Ontario, Québec and British Columbia . He is fluently bilingual.
Conrad’s approach with his clients is to begin by developing a comprehensive financial plan designed to achieve their short and long term financial goals. Often this process involves helping the client to clearly identify what these goals are. Investments, family structure, insurance, lending, tax implications, and estate/succession planning are all part of the consideration to ensure that the client’s specific needs are fully taken into account.
A special relationship with a client is developed through what Conrad believes is very important, and what he terms “a very participatory process”. He strives to assist his clients in learning more about investment planning with every meeting, and by doing so, de-mystifies the financial planning process, leaving clients feeling knowledgeable and comfortable in the decisions they make with his counsel. And as he emphasizes “the decisions are always made by the client – all I can do is assist by providing a realistic knowledge base for them, and ensuring they clearly understand the implication of each decision they consider”.
He has lived in the Cornwall/Ottawa corridor all his life, and for the past 35 years, in Rockland with his wife, Nicole, who is employed with the Federal Public Service. Their daughter, Stephanie, is a successful human resource advisor with the Federal Government. He enjoys golf, fishing and spending time in the great outdoors.
“I make myself available to my clients on a regular basis at their home or at their place of business. When someone asks you to partner with them to help them achieve their lifelong goals, they are, in a way, bringing you into their family. I take this honor seriously, and always strive to continue to earn this valuable acceptance and recognition.”
